   Hunters will arrive at our locked gate at 8:00 am the morning before the hunt starts. You will then be escorted to our camp. After arranging your equipment, the staff at Huntsman Mountain will give a horse orientation and you will be assigned your horse and tack for the week. The afternoon can be spent relaxing and getting ready for the next morning. During the week it will be up early in the mornings and after a good breakfast off on the trail. Hunting spots will vary in distance from 20 minutes from camp to 3 hours, depending on where the elk are.   
   Guided hunts are five days of hunting.  Hunts start on Saturday morning and run through the following Wednesday evening. Arrival will be on Friday morning and departure will be Thursday morning, unless
   Prior arrangements are made with Huntsman Camp.
   If you are successful in harvesting an elk, your guide will pack your meat and horns off the mountain to camp. From there a multitude of scenarios are available to have your elk processed by local professionals. These rates vary from place to place. Please be prepared transport your game home.

Un-Guided Drop Camps: $1750.00

Includes:

   You and your equipment packed in and out
   Game packed out
   Wall tents supplied with cots, woodstoves, cook stoves, pots and pans,    firewood
   2 way radio to reach Outfitter
   Camps are placed on natural springs deep in the Gunnison National Forest

   Hunters will arrive at our ranch the Thursday morning before the hunt starts. We will then  get you prepared with a horse to ride to your camp.  Then we will arrange all of your equipment and food, getting it prepared to be packed on a mule. Hunters should keep gear to a limit of 1 large duffle weighing under 40 lbs. Hunters should plan food accordingly for 7 days but keep weight down as much as possible. Once we have the mules loaded, we will start our ride deep into the mountains. Upon arrival at our drop camp, we will unload all gear and leave you for a week of backcountry hunting. We will take all horses out and then return with them at the end of the week. Hunters will check in with the Outfitter every evening to ensure safety and plan any meat packing. Outfitter will pack meat out to our ranch and then arrangements can be made for handling and care. 



  *A fifty percent deposit due upon booking with Huntsman Mountain Outfitters. Final payment is due upon arrival in camp. Additional services such as combination hunts can be made with the outfitter. These animals include mule deer and bear.

  *Hunters born after Jan. 1st 1949 must have a hunter education certificate
  *Blaze orange vest and hat are required in muzzleloading and rifle season
  *Elk licenses approx. cost:  $586.00 for bull or either sex, $ 351.00 for cow only
   *Over the counter tags available at multiple stores including WalMart and City Market, Coop……
